Anne Bradshaw

Anne Bradshaw was born in Caernarvon, Wales, in 1942, to London's Eve and Fred Tozer, but grew up in Cheshire, England when the family moved after the war.

Anne Bradshaw
In 1963, in days when it was unusual to travel far, she left her homeland, spending eighteen months in the United States. "I wanted to see the world," she admits, "but only got as far as North America. That turned out to be far enough because it brought me one of the greatest blessings of my life."

After working her way across country with a friend from London, she found secretarial employment with Western and Southern on Wiltshire Boulevard, Los Angeles. There, because of the example of a fine young Latter-day Saint named Carolyn Croxton, she found The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was baptized prior to returning to the U.K. Shortly after, she met Bob Bradshaw, recently home from a labor mission in Airdrie, Scotland, and they married in the Manchester South Ward and the London Temple in September 1966.

Anne and Bob moved around England; living in Manchester, Daventry, Leiston, Southport, Tamworth and Sutton Coldfield. They currently live in Utah, and have four children; David, Linda, Jeff and Peter; and many grandchildren.

Anne's hobbies include walking, computers, herbal gardening, aromatherapy, photography, family and genealogy. "I've had some wondrous experiences researching ancestors," she adds. "I descend from people named Tozer, Barclay, Styles, Pattison, Guppy, Whall, Burgess, Tibbs, Minter, Scarfe, Godfrey, and Short, to name a few. The singer, Phil Collins, is in there too, via the Tozer line. He's my Dad's cousin's son."

Whilst serving as a Seminary teacher Anne began sending articles and stories about British youth to the Church magazine, The New Era, a high quality glossy magazine with worldwide circulation. She has also contributed Ensign British Isles articles about members from the United Kingdom.

"Writing is an exciting and satisfying experience," Anne says, "and is something I've wanted to do since childhood. I've kept a box of ideas and jottings for a long time, knowing that one day they would get into books."
